Mangalam has received recognition for its activities from Central and State Governments, and Central and State social Welfare Advisory Boards:
Ministry of Welfare (Now redesignated as Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment), New Delhi, recognized Mangalam in 1980 as an implementing agency for its schemes of Aids and Appliances, and has approved its schemes of Mobile Unit and Vocational Training.
The Ministry have conveyed their appreciation while selecting Mangalam for its good and long tracks record in providing effective rehabilitation services to the handicapped.
Ministry of Home affairs have authorized Mangalam under section 6(1) of Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act for receiving foreign contributions.
Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research have registered Mangalam as a Association under section 35(i) (ii) of the Income Tax Act which provide 100% rebate on donations to Mangalam for Research.
The Uttar Pradesh Government awarded the State Level Awards consecutively for 3 years to Mangalam, Lucknow.
Government of Madhya Pradesh commended the work done for the persons with different abilities (disabled) in Madhya Pradesh.
Awards and Recognition
Mangalam is the recipient of the Best Institution National Award 1990 from the President of India in Public Recognition of its outstanding performance in the field of welfare of the handicapped in the country.
On the recommendation of the National Selection committee for the National Award, the Ministry of Welfare, Government of India, conveyed in 1987 its appreciation for the work done by the Mangalam, Shivpuri Branch.
